The workshop conducted for the students seeking admission in the three years' BSc. HM&CT course at Vatel, Ansal University was unique in so much as it demonstrated cooking without fire. Teams of students were given an assortment of vegetables and proteins to produce exotic and imaginary combination of salads, using dressings and toppings of their choice and were expected to give it their own branding and a unique, non-generic name.
The atmosphere sprung into action and soon took the dimension of a full-throttled competition and rivalry. The young amateur to-be chefs tried their best, not to show their secret art to the other competing teams. At the end of the competition, all the members of the winning team, so also the runner-ups were given medals. A similar workshop, wherein no fire was used was on the subject if sandwiches, in which the students participated with a lot of enthusiasm and delight.
